Centreville resident Sophie Mihyun Choi, 44, was is facing charges following an investigation into an assault by a school staffer at Ellis Elementary School on Kim Graham Lane in Manassas.
According to the Prince William County Police Department, in late October, Choi allegedly struck the child inside a classroom, leaving him with "a minor mark on his forehead."
The incident was reported to school officials, who then notified the police.
Officers obtained a summons for Choi for assault and battery, which was served on Thursday, Nov. 14.
Choi was released on the court summons and the next court date is pending.
